Installation

Requirements

Before installing CuteFlow it is advisable that you check your shared hosting or dedicated server on which, CuteFlow will be installed for PreRequisites.

CuteFlow is a webbased software and has been tested on both Windows and Linux based Apache Web Servers. Major hosting providers meet the software component requirements mentioned below. The webserver on which CuteFlow is installed must meet the requirements of the following technologies.

PHP: Server side scripting language in which CuteFlow is written. Ironically it is also the most popular open source programming langauge. Minimum version required 5.0.0 or greater.

MYSQL: Most popular Open Source rational Database. Minimum version required v3.23 or greater.

(Note: for installing Apache server on Windows we recommend installing XAMPP, open source Apache Server with PHP 5.0 and MySQL Version 4.0 support)

So for running CuteFlow on your server you will need:

  • A webserver that can run PHP (i.e. Apache 1.3.x or higher)
  • PHP >= 5.0.0
  • MySQL Database
  • A E-Mail Server that can be connected via SMTP to do the communication to the receivers

Installation

  • If you want to Update your current Cuteflow Version, please take a look at the Update Section
  • A working apache, php and mysql is required! This instructions doesn’t cover the installation of this programs.
  • Copy the whole application folder to a folder that can reached from your apache server (i.e. the htdocs folder), maybe you should use an unique DNS name for the appliaction (i.e. cuteflow, so you can use http:://cuteflow/ as an url on all client machines. Please contact your system administrator to do so. This is OPTIONAL!
  • Just start Cuteflow (open the “index.php”). If you haven’t installed Cuteflow yet, you’ll automatically be forwarded to the installation.

Update

If you use an older Version of Cuteflow, and you want to keep your whole data and settings, you can easily update it:

IMPORTANT: Updates can only be made from Cuteflow v2.8.0 or v2.9.0

  • To avoid an unexpected disaster: please backup your Database and Configuration Entries.
  • Copy CuteFlow 2.9.1 in your current Cuteflow directory (overwrite existing files!!)
